		<description>Google never wanted the Nexus One as a success in terms of the sheer numbers. If thats what Google wanted, it would have started its own hardware division and would have never given it away to HTC. Also, if you saw the launch event of Google Nexus One, Google went overboard trying to tell everyone that HTC manufactured the phone and not Google. Android wouldnt have been open source if Google wanted the Nexus One to take off in numerical strength, since Google knows very well that hardware vendors would be able to compete against Google releasing better phones than the Nexus One in time. 

So the only thing that explains all of this is: The prime motive behind the release of the Nexus One was to show the capability of the Android platform so that the hardware vendors jumped in.</description>
